Children’s Storytime

Fill your house with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks.

~Dr. Seuss

Paper Leaves and our non-profit partner, Greater Literacy Foundation, are committed to nurturing the next generation of readers and storytellers. Our weekly children's storytime, held every Saturday morning at 10:30, is a celebration of the joy of reading. While a children's storytime may not seem transformative, it can plant the seeds of a lifelong love for books. In addition to the seasonal and age-appropriate read, the Paper Leaves staff guide the children in a stimulating craft activity that fosters critical thinking and creative expression, while also fostering a sense of community. The chosen craft always complements the storytime theme, such as promoting friendship, love, kindness, and fun—values that young listeners can apply in their daily lives and grow into better individuals.

These storytimes not only provide a fun and educational experience, but also promote the long-term benefits of book ownership. Many children in our community lack the resources to add a book to their home library. Paper Leaves often gifts books to community members, many of whom attend children's storytime, so that they can experience the special feeling of owning their very own book. We believe that this early exposure to books will inspire a lifelong love for reading and learning, and we hope that throughout their lives, they will continue to grow their library, one book at a time.

We are deeply grateful to our partners at the Greater Literacy Foundation for their invaluable support. Their hosting of our community events, such as storytime, is a testament to our shared commitment to providing a nurturing environment that promotes book ownership and increases access to literature through children's readings, book donations, and community outreach. Together, we're making a real difference in the lives of our young readers.
